About

Operating as The ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 16 since 1971. This building as served as a location for many commemorative events and celebrations of all kinds over it's Fifty Two years. With more than 4600 sq ft., bordering a pond, and with a large paved parking lot, the possibilities are endless. Being offered "AS IS". In the mid 1950's plans got underway to build a Legion Hall and club to accommodate the growing membership as veterans of World War 2 returned home. In 1957, it was the victim of a hurricane and destroyed. The 2nd building was built and opened in 1959. But, it was once again the victim of disaster, this time in the shape of Fire in 1969. Priceless artifacts and memorabilia were destroyed, leaving no written records prior to 1969. But, the members would not be defeated and once again started from scratch. This current building opened it's doors on September 20, 1971. Branch 16, like other branches of the Legion, has seen many changes in recent years with the passing of time and comrades. The opportunity to breath new life back into this very significant building is now presenting itself. To all members of our Canadian Armed Forces, past, present, and future. Thank you for your service (id:27476)
